Of trees and rivers

Swim in water, climb a tree

FOR BILE

They came into life, with a desire to live
But caged and enslaved, FOR BILE, forced to give

Bewildered and frightened, in misery and pain
Broken, defenceless, FOR BILE cruel man's gain

Each day they awake, in silence they plead
For kindness, redemption, FOR BILE they still bleed

Dear God please help them, save gentle Bears
From cruellest prisons FOR THE BILE, IS THEIRS

These words break my heart and make me cry. Why??? Why are men so cruel, it' s unbelievable and absolutely disgusting. Those men don' t deserve to live, they deserve to suffer more than what those poor bears are suffering, let' s save them all!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Erica Here is some media information from one of our members you have a great day.
Jeanette, my local contact at the St. Joseph, MO News-Press is Ken Newton (kenn@npgco.com). I have tried contacting the editorial staff at the Kansas City Star (a MUCH larger newspaper) and have had no reply. I would also try the Lexington, KY Herald-Leader, the Cedar Rapids Gazette (gazetteonline.com) and the Boulder, CO and Ft. Collins, CO newspapers.

Christian radio station networks would be a great avenue for interviews, too. Try the Bott Radio networks. My local contact in Kansas City is Eben Fowler (efowler@bottradionetwork.com).

P.S. I am the lucky recipient of Ann Ranlett's beautiful "Rosie" miniature artwork. I also purchased some of her beautiful note cards and highly recommend them. She sends some of the proceeds to animalsasia.org.

Trafficking bears and their parts for use in traditional Asian medicine is decimating wild populations of bears.

Unless urgent reforms are introduced quickly, many species face an irreversible fate: extinction. There are over 50 herbal alternatives to bear bile for use in TCM. Download the WSPA pamphlet Herbal Alternatives to Bear Bile.

"The longer we wait, the more expensive it will be to prevent future extinctions," says Dr Jane Smart, Head of IUCN's Species Programme. "We now know what species are threatened, what the threats are and where we have no more excuses to watch from the sidelines." Hunted for sport, shot for their fur, killed for their gall bladders, farmed for their bile, used as 'dancing bears' and used in circuses ... their habitat is being destroyed. They need our protection. ~ WSPA
